The HLTAID003 Provide first aid is the most comprehensive First Aid course available and the minimum requirement for First Aid compliance across a number of industries including nursing, health care, aged care, teaching, trades and professional organisations. It is the benchmark in First Aid training as it encompasses the three core units of competency as required by the new HLT training package:
HLTAID003 Provide first aid replaces the requirement for Apply first aid and Senior first aid courses.
With First Aid Courses Darwin friendly, highly experienced facilitators, your training will give you excellent in-depth practical education and experience on how to assess, manage and provide first aid. Our accredited training includes how to respond to many common medical emergencies including the treatment of Asthma, how to use the DRSABCD protocol, the use of an EpiPen for critical allergic reactions and how and when to use an AED for defibrillation.
Upon completion of the course, you’ll be equipped with the skills and confidence you need to act calmly and decisively as a first responder in a medical emergency.

Training and Assessment are delivered Face to Face (6 hours)
Plus + Prior to attending the face-to-face training session, you are required to complete the pre-course reading, and complete the quiz and bring it to the training session on the day. This is a self-paced, self-directed, and mandatory component of the course. The actual number of study hours required for each learner varies depending on the learners existing knowledge, skills and experience.

So, whilst we do have mandatory pre-course reading requirements, it is self-paced and self-directed. Prior to attending the course, you need to complete a quiz and bring it to the session on the day to prove completion. The actual number of study hours required for each learner to complete the pre reading and quiz varies depending on the learners existing knowledge, skills and experience.

Our First Aid and CPR Courses run frequently in some locations, 7 days a week from 9:00am to 3:00pm or CPR 9am to 11am. (May vary from state to state).

To that end, we go to great lengths to ensure that all candidates who successfully complete the HLTAID003 Provide first aid course are issued with their fully nationally accredited certificate on the same day or within 24 hours of completing their training.
In order to issue the certification, you will need to have completed the prior reading and associated quiz and have provided your USI (Unique Student Identifier) number see below for more information. USI numbers must be supplied prior to the completion of the training course.
Failure to provide a USI number within the allotted time may result in a delay in issuing your completion certificate. (T&C)
Certificates are issued electronically and will be sent to the email address you use when registering for the course. Paper copies of the certificate are available for an additional fee of $12.00 which includes postage
In line with new government regulations, from January 1, 2018, all students undertaking a nationally recognised training course need to have a Unique Student Identifier (USI). USI’s only need be created once, and the number generated is yours for life. So, if you are already studying at college or university it is likely that you may already have a USI that you can use. Applications for a USI take less than 5 minutes and can be completed HERE.
A USI (unique student identifier) the number is now a mandatory requirement for any student wishing to undertake vocational training. A USI number is unique to you and provided by the government to keep a secure online record of your VET certifications. Current industry standards require Provide First Aid to be updated every 3 years. The Australian Resuscitation Council recommends the CPR component is updated annually.
HLTAID003 Provide first aid course is the most current standard and applies to all workers who may be required to provide a first aid response in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings.

Our course is flexible in delivery and we provide theory based reading booklet (Learner Guide) to be studied by participants prior to the practical session. We anticipate the pre – learning required may take 4- 8 hours depending on participants.
To ensure the integrity of our assessment process there is no online assessment completed, however written assessment and progressive assessments will take place during the practical session.
