HTLAID004 Provide an emergency first aid response in an education and care setting is now superseded and has been replaced by HLTAID012 Provide First Aid in an education and care setting.
Childcare and education employees or individuals who are around infants and children on a regular basis will find benefit in this comprehensive and contextualised first aid course.
First Aid Darwin presents this unit as an addition to HLTAID011 Provide First Aid, covering ALL the knowledge and practical requirements of this unit PLUS common infant and child illnesses including, vomiting, dehydration, fever, diarrhoea and febrile convulsion.
HLTAID012 Provide First Aid in an education and care setting is deemed compliant by the Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA) because of its childcare and education focus.
This course may also contribute towards approved first aid, asthma and anaphylaxis training under the Education and Care Services National Law and the Education and Care Services National Regulations
Knowledge Assessment online + Practical Assessment in class – shorter classes.
Learning Online is a flexible and condensed delivery strand that integrates the ease of online with the support of face-to-face training. Students complete the knowledge assessment tasks of the course in their own time through their student portal before attending a 2-hour workshop to complete the practical element of the course in a safe learning area with a certified childcare first aid trainer.
It rewards those who prefer the flexibility and freedom that comes with online study.

In line with Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines, HLTAID011 should be updated every 3 years and HLTAID009 every 12 months.
